The Company: AFM Mattress Company LLC is a midmarket mattress retailer exclusively operating American Mattress stores across the greater Chicagoland and Indianapolis markets.

Job Description: The company is looking for a Social Media Marketing Intern to help establish a social media presence that is consistent with its other marketing channels. The candidate will report directly to a senior sales executive at the company and will be required to prepare and present a power point presentation of their work (see Deliverable) at the end of the 10-week internship. The ideal candidate should demonstrate an interest in social media, media, and communication strategies as well as autonomy in running social media campaigns in the past. The candidate will be empowered and required to develop social media strategies with the help of the sales team.

Location: Remote / Elk Grove, IL

Time Commitment: Part-time (20 hours per week est.)

Duration: 10-weeks

Compensation: $15.00 / hr

Experience & Education:

• Rising college senior or recent graduate
• Completed or actively seeking a degree in business, marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or another related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Advanced knowledge and experience within social media platforms
• Ability to take initiative and ownership of work.
• Demonstrated experience in independently running social media platforms for organizations in the past

Deliverables: The candidate will be required to present a comparative analysis of their social media marketing campaign to the company’s senior management team. As part of the deliverable, the candidate will be asked to research the tools and their related efficacy of AFM’s 3-5 primary competitors. Those findings should then be compared to the tools and results deployed on AFM’s behalf throughout the duration of the internship. Quantitative and qualitative methods are encouraged.
